ATTENDANCE

Your Attendance Matters!

Better Grades

You can't learn if you aren't in school. Research shows a clear link: students who come to class do better in school.

Better Jobs

The habits you set now--attending class ever day and coming to school on time--will carry over into the workplace.

Better Behavior

Students who have good attendance are more liklely to stay out of trouble. One study found that 78% of those who ended up in prison had a first arrest for school truancy.

Better Ending

Students with good attendance are more likely to graduate missing too many classes is often the first step toward dropping out. Students who drop out of high school have a higher rate of unemployment and generally lower incomes.

3 ways parents can prepare for Common Core

1. Read aloud to your child. It is the single-most important thing a parent can do to promote the future success of a child.

2. Read with your child. It not only helps with reading but also provides a bonding opportunity.

3. Read by your child. Modeling is one of the most powerful tools to turn your child into a lifelong reader.
