Hope to see a great turn out!

UC Families, Friends and Community Members:
Tonight I want to share something that has the power to change opportunities for Union City students for years to come.
It’s called LaunchOK, and it gives our community a way to bring new resources, technology, and hands-on STEM and aerospace learning directly into our schools.
What makes LaunchOK remarkable is that anyone can participate. Individuals, families, and businesses can all use this program to redirect some of the Oklahoma income tax dollars they already owe back into Union City classrooms. These are not new dollars and not an added expense. They are simply choosing where their tax obligation goes. In return, the state provides a generous tax credit, and many businesses can also treat the redirected amount as a normal business expense.
For parents and guardians, this means more opportunities for your child to explore robotics, engineering, aviation, and other STEM pathways. It means more tools, more experiences, and more confidence-building moments that open doors to their future.
For businesses, LaunchOK is entirely non-sacrificial. There is no extra cost. By redirecting tax dollars they already owe, businesses can support local schools while still receiving the tax credit and writing off the contribution as a business expense. It is a simple way for companies of any size to strengthen their community without spending anything extra.
No matter who you are in Union City a parent, a grandparent, a business owner, or someone who simply cares about our students you have a real way to be part of this. When we choose to redirect our tax dollars into our own community, we turn them into opportunities that stay right here at home.
LaunchOK gives all of us a chance to support our students in a meaningful, non-sacrificial way. Together, we can open doors for the next generation and strengthen Union City’s future.
We will be sharing more documents via social media as well but the link below will provide you with the full PowerPoint Presentation with all of the information as well as contact info to LaunchOK leaders that can provide you with additional information and answer any questions you might have. I will be at the Theater Play, Community Parade and Chili Cook Off tomorrow and will have additional handouts and will be available to answer questions you may have. LaunchOK Presenters will be present (virtually) at the School Board Meeting on Monday to give the full presentation as well. Please use the link below to learn more about this amazing opportunity.
Please join us in bringing cutting edge educational and career opportunities to our Union City students.
Respectfully, Kerri Griggs UCPS Superintendent

UC Families, UCPS WILL be in session today Busses will run as normal but please be prepared for some delays as drivers navigate potential conditions. Please be aware that some stations are anticipating possible freezing conditions in spots over the next two hours before the storm passes entirely and temperatures warm back up. Please advise all student drivers to take extra time and precautions during this period. As always, please make the safest decisions possible for your individual families. Delays will be excused and students will not be penalized. Bundle up and be safe!
