Good afternoon school community,
Please join me this week as everyone is invited to celebrate Teacher /Staff Appreciation Week for all! Families and community members are encouraged to write a quick note, card, or other appreciation gestures to our incredible educational team at UC. We could not provide the top notch learning opportunities without the help of teachers, support staff, administrators, lunch staff, custodial, maintenance staff and let’s not forget our bus drivers! Each and every set of hands that touch the school day are important to ensure all aspects of a school run daily. A big shout out to PTO as they are leading the way for this week celebration. Please be on the look out for ways to sign up and participate.
With appreciation,
Dr. Slothower

PSA from Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy:
As of March 2024, 502,221 Oklahoma children were enrolled in SoonerCare, just over half the estimated number of children living in the state. Additionally, the state estimates that about seven percent, or 70,000 Oklahoma children, are not enrolled in insurance, and more than half of those, or about 35,000, would likely qualify for SoonerCare coverage.

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade took their stuffed animals to the Teddy Bear Clinic at CV Tech. Students interacted with health career students while their stuffed animals had their vitals taken, and eyes checked. They also were able to assist with surgery in the surgery tech classroom. THANK YOU to Lisa Phillips for making this memorable experience available to our young Tigers!

Our high school track team competed in Regionals at Alex. Morgan qualified for state in long jump and will compete on Friday. Way to represent Morgan and good luck at state!

✈️Our Speedfest (RC plane competition) teams were busy working together to build, rewire, and fly their planes. Neither team placed, but the experience our teams leave with is phenomenal!
Both teams would like to give a shoutout to Crafty Country Chick for making the team shirts and the Pappe family for helping with dinner costs at Eskimo Joes!

If you signed your child up for one of our summer academic camps, you should have received an email today. If you did not receive an email, please email Mrs. Brothers at k.brothers@unioncity.k12.ok.us .
